Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) as one of the Academic Network members of the Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) has been effectively contributed to the 17 agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.

The 9th session of the UN-GGIM was held on 7-9 August 2019 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Several side events were conducted on August 5-6, 2019 too.

Dr. Saeid (Adam) Pirasteh from the faculty of geosciences and environmental engineering (FGEE) has represented SWJTU at the Academic Network of UN-GGIM 2019 annual session at the United Nations headquarters, New York from August 5-9, 2019. In this meeting, Saeid emphasized on the importance of working all together to build our world better with a safer environment and good future generations.

Several meetings were conducted in 5 days to support the UN-GGIM international collaboration in global geospatial information management and SDGs 2030. The SWJTU has played active role participation at the Academic Network to contribute the capacity building and new ideas toward UN-GGIM implementation and SDGs 2019.

A productive meeting of Academic Network Members of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) was conducted at the UN headquarters New York on 8th August 2019. Besides, the Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) was conducted at the UN headquarters, New York on August 5-8, 2019. ‬
